London.: Cassell.. 1890.. Chromolithograph, image size approximately 8 1/2 x 7 inches on sheet 11 x 8 inches. A few faint foxed spots, two short tears to mid left edge (just outside image); very good condition. Single plate from "The Illustrated Book of Poultry", published in 1890 by Cassell & Co. Striking image of prize poultry. The information beneath the image includes the owner's name and, in many cases, information on prizes won. The rich coloring of the chromolithography by Vincent Brooks Day & Son makes the antique poultry prints from this series particularly attractive. .
