Hardcover. 12mo. 18cm, first edition, second issue, xii,(13)249,(1),(3)pp., ads., with 3 engraved plates, in contemporary half calf, raised bands, black leather label, marbled boards, heraldic bookplate, in book box, brown cloth, maroon leather label, lined in marble paper, some slight edge wear, otherwise fine condition. (cgc) Howes K108. "The first American sporting book" (Howes). All former early sporting books were British imports. With illustrations by American artist Francis Kearney (1758-1837). The second issue with corrected spelling of "ribbon" on page 235. The author describes game birds and waterfowl in the Delaware Valley that surrounds Philadelphia.
