About This Item

New York, NY: Duell, Sloan, and Pearce, 1960 Duell, Sloan, and Pearce, New York. 1960. Hardcover. Stated 2nd Edition. Retired library copy with inked out library name on text-block edges and half title page. Book is tight, square, and unmarked except as noted above. Book Condition: Very Good; light shelf wear; light dust soiling to text block top. DJ; Very Good; NOT Price Clipped ($3.75); slight chipping at head; light edge wear and rubbing to panels. Black cloth boards and spine with bright gilt lettering on the spine. 231 pp 8vo. The ten radio scripts which make up this book were broadcast over the NBC system in 1944 with their theme being the American experience- the experience common to the Americans of the early settlements and voyages, of whatever race. Created from the ancient chronicles, the narratives, the letters, and from the pages written by those who saw with their own eyes and were part of it. A brilliant and enduring image of America for a radio broadcast to allow the listener to "see" it for themselves. A clean very presentable copy with little use/wear as a library book in a Brodart mylar jacket.
