Exterior is in very rough shape is leather shows considerable wear. Both front is completely detached and rear board is basically detached as well as at the time of this listing it is precariously hanging on by two thin threads. Both detached boards have the last end page still attached to them. Top of spine has remnants of an old label attached. Despite the very rough exterior the internal binding appears good. Text pages are secure. Paper is toned due to age and scattered spotting and foxing is present throughout. The front end page (which is attached to the front board) contains a small signature with an 1894 date in the upper right corner. Please note: this is volume 2 only of a four-volume set. The book is in poor shape but is a good candidate for rebinding or to be used for reference purposes.
