There is cracks to guttering with exposed netting and binding is loose. Boards have visible rubbing and moderate bumping to corners. Fair crushing to spine ends. Unclipped jacket with heavy edge wear and visible rubbing. Splitting to joints and visible tearing to corners, edges and spine ends.

Corners lightly bumped, light edge wear with more wear to lower rear corner, spine is slightly sunned, cover has multiple small and pale marks, small dark stain on spine, text block edges slightly darkened and have occasional light marks, first free end-paper has ink inscription, previous owner's bookplate and a pale stain at top of page, text is clean and tight. Christchurch, New Zealand: N. M. Peryer Limited, 1961. Hardback. Fair/No Jacket. Sixth edition hardback, 1961, with no jacket. In overall fair used condition with some signs of handling and storage - red cloth boards a little bumped to edges, spine tanned with a couple of marks and nick to cloth at spine head. Internally the book has clearly had something spilled on it, all pages are lightly stained to edges and wrinkled but no pages are stuck togther and the text and illustrations remain clean and clear throughout. Binding tight, no annotations or inscriptions - name to ffep. A good working copy. Not an old library book. Photograph available.
