The binding shows rubbing and wear with heavy spotting but is sound with secure inner hinges. Text is clean. Fuller (1847-1876) was a North Carolina poet and novelist from Louisburg in Franklin County who was best know for his poem "Angel in the Cloud." Signed on the front flyleaf (on green paper; the signature is hard to read) is "Henry A. London, Jr." This was Henry Armand London, a journalist and lawyer from Pittsboro, North Carolina. In 1878 he founded the "Chatham Record," a local newspaper. He attended UNC 1862-64 and then joined the Confederate Army during the Civil War. He was a Courier in Company I of the 32nd North Carolina Regiment, and he participated in one of the last actions of the War when he delivered Robert E. Lee's order of cease fire to General William R. Cox. [Henry Armand London put a "Jr." after his name, even though his father was Henry Adolphus London; when he wrote his father's obituary, he also signed it in print as H. A. London, Jr., Editor.]. There is another signature on the second front flyleaf of "Miss Jackson.
