Pp550, 17 full page hand coloured engravings on steel, 84 vignette engravings on wood within text. Binding is faded and worn with some splitting and small loss to spine edges. Hinges are week but holding. Neat, early ownership mark on front free endpaper. All text and illustrations are tightly bound some age toning to page edges, otherwise in tight and bright. The hand colouring on the illustrations skilfully completed.

Book containing six full page line drawings accompanying the story of a cat's pilgrimage, meeting other animals along the way. 1870 original publcation, 21 pages in very bright clean condition just some foxing on first 3 and last 2 pages. Boards are rubbed on edges and surface but still presentable. Spine is possibly respined professionally in cloth the endpapers look original inside so it is a very good piece of work.
