Book Interior NEAR FINE/ Boards Near Fine / Dust Jacket Good. Boards and spine are blue cloth, lettering gilt. Dust jacket is white/blue, lettering white/blue, colour pictorial front and black/white photo on back. Dust jacket is NOT PRICE CLIPPED, has a tiny bit of age darkening on some edges, has minor edge wear and a few chips, back cover of dj has a rip 2 1/4 inches long on left and right sides with an old crease mark joining the two, been restored flat for many years, dj back also has a diagonal crease 2 1/2 inches long at corner, paper is in place on half the length of the right side rip, so that if repaired the rip will be only 1 1/8 inch long, dj back also has a small piece missing out of the lower right corner. DJ spine has a piece of paper missing at the top 1 1/8 inch high x spine width and a piece of paper missing at the bottom 1/2 inch high x spine width. DJ front has two pieces of paper missing at top left and a rip 1 1/8 inch high at bottom left corner also a rip 3/4 inch high at bottom right corner. Other than that, the dust jacket is bright, complete and in one piece. Book boards and spine are flat, very clean and bright, no rips, one small bent corner tip and one slightly bruised corner tip with a rip in the cloth the size of the tip of a ball point pen, no spine creases, a tiny bit of sunning 1/4 inch W on bottom free end of spine, no edge wear, altogether the boards and spine are in fine shape. Page edges white and clean, side edge has a few extremely faint marks. Inner end papers are white. Inside of book is tight, clean, bright, clear, flat. Two pages accidentally lightly dog eared on lower corner, now restored flat. Black/white sketches by Margaret Chapman. This is a most remarkable study based on fifty years’ experience in many parts of the world of animal mentality, particularly those basic characteristics which animals share with us.
