Boston: The Atlantic Monthly Press, 1950. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. Later Printing. 8vo. 338 pp. This book was re-bound in red leather and red cloth and decorated in gilt on the front panel and spine; brown endpapers; gilt upper edge; illustrated with black and white photographs and maps. It was used as a Harvard Prize Book and was presented by the Harvard Club of Miami to Clark Sutcliffe Reed by the Fort Lauderdale High School in May, 1950. Light edge and corner wear with some minor fading on the spine; aside from the presentation plate, no interior markings. William M. Mann was the fifth director of the National Zoo in Washington, DC. With his wife, he promoted the zoo and went on expeditions to collect live animals for display. The Chapters are: Runaway; Military School; Ranching; Special Agent and Expert; Armies of Ants; Presidential Passport; Dates for Bait; The Holy Man's Donkey; Bug Doctor; Human Meat Is Sweeter; Whales' Teeth; Beche-la-mer; Tree Ants; Lace-trimmed Frogs; and And So To Work..
