1820 1ed Apocryphal New Testament Bible Apocrypha Christian Legends William Hone

William Hone was a 19th-century English bookseller who found himself in a censorship fight with the government in 1817. Following that debate Hone produced a series of political satires and controversial works including 'The Apocryphal New Testament' in 1820. This book features a number of the Canonical New Testament books along with other books written in conjunction with the scriptural text. However, many of the stories found in these books are considerably connected with Hindu mythology, various gods of India and legends found in the Koran.

Many readers and Catholic and Protestant scholars still find these Apocryphal books desirable due to their historical significance and Christian legends.
