Original light green glazed pictorial boards. 44 pp. Both covers with the same attractive colored pastedown: four girls, two carrying apples, one bouncing an apple, and one kneeling behind a flour canister holding a rolling pin with a partial border of apples and leaves. The spine is red; the leaf edges are stained red, and the endpapers are dark blue. Attractive bookplate of Bianca Locker-Lampson inside front cover. Bianca Locker Lampson was the wife of Oliver Locker-Lampson, who was the son of Frederick Locker-Lampsons. Greenaway had a very close friendship with the Locker-Lampsons. Slight bumps on edges of covers, slight strain inside back cover, cover pastedowns and internals nice, Very Good. Schuster 1a. Thomson 33a has the back cover blank; otherwise, this copy is identical. Part of a bookseller's private Greenaway collection purchased by us from her estate. . Very Good. Hard Bound. First Edition. 1886.
