Owner’s name to title-page, teardrop discoloration to lower front cover, rear front corners slightly bumped, else a fine, unread copy in original red matte wrappers. Signed and inscribed by Eco to Giuseppe Flores d'Arcais, considered the founder of the school of personalized pedagogy. From the personal library of Eco bibliographer James Contursi. A nice association copy, rare; First written for the use of students in his university lectures, these materials were later amplified and greatly modified and included in a more theoretically oriented form in La struttura assente (The Absent Structure).
