The Arabian Nights Entertainments by Andrew Lang - 1898

London, New York and Bombay: Longmans, Green & Co, 1898 A good copy in the original decorative cloth binding with gilt picture to the front board and gilt titles and illustration to the spine. Aeg. Lang used the french version of Monsieur Galland as the basis for his collection. With numerous illustrations by H J Ford. The binding is bright and clean. There is pulling with slight fraying to the top and bottom of the spine and wear to edges, including the cloth at the spine joints. There is a small bump affecting the bottom edge of the front board close to the spine joint. Slight marking to back board and some corner wear. The original black endpapers are present. Contents slightly shaken (stitching is visible circa pp 64/5 but the book is sound) but clean. Some pages have light spotting and there is occasional light marking, mostly to outer side margins.
