About This Item
Synopsis
The Arabian Nights collection is a series of tales collected over the milennia and in this famous format, retold by the sultana Scheherazade, who uses the compelling tales with many dramatic turns as entertainments for her jealous and murderous husband, hoping to keep him amused and herself alive to tell the next part of the tale on the following night! The body of tales is made up of ancient and medieval Arabic, Persian, Indian, Egyptian and Mesopotamian folklore and literature, and many of the tales are familiar: Aladdin's Wonderful Lamp, Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves and The Seven Voyages of Sinbad the Sailor.
