FIRST EDITION, 4to., pp.156 + colophon; illustrations in half-tone throughout; a good copy in original yellow cloth with Max Ernst design on upper cover; head & tail of backstrip lightly worn. Naum Gabo & his brother Antoine Pevsner occupy pp.89-91 and their Realistic Manifesto is reproduced on p.138: 'We liberate ourselves from the errors of the Egyptians who for thousands of years pretended that the element of art could only be of a static rhythm... We state that the elements of art are founded on a dynamic rhythm.' Surprisingly uncommon; many of the 2500 copies printed presumably remained unsold and were pulped.
