Bath: Sir Isaac Pitman & Sons, Ltd., 1928. Blue cloth covered boards with black and gilt titling and decorative design to front and spine. One small damp stain to spine and slight evidence of sunning to front. Pages edges and half-title page are slightly toned. Some bumping to spine ends and corners. Spine cracked and shaken. Tight, clean copy; 238 pages plus original advertisements in back. Includes numerous illustrations, diagrams, and sketches in colour, monochrome, and black and white, as well as the original tipped-in wax paper diagrams including a scale for a complete kiln, a design for a glass painter's easel, and 'The Cartoon' which is a full size drawing of one portion or figure in the design of a window. Decorative frontispiece depicts 'The sketch for the "Sir Galahad's Visionne" Panel. The contents include chapters on Processes and Materials, Designing for Stained Glass, and The Sketch, among many others. This is as much a historical depiction of Stained Glass at the time of printing, as it is a practical manual for those interested today. Scarce.. First Edition. Hard Cover.
