Very early printing - has 1890 on title page - no other editions mentioned. has copyright 1888 on rear of title page. images available on request. John Ferguson Hume originally published this book anonymously only as "A New York Broker" so he would not be accused of publishing it only to get more brokerage clients. Crease in front board. 198 pages plus 10 pages of advert.s to rear. copyright 1888. Owners name and year in pen to title page "F W Frankland 1890". Occassional foxing and some pencil underlining. Nice tight text block on a very good quality laid paper. Gilt title to front and spine. Yellow endpapers. Brown cloth hard covers. Possibly owned by Frankland, F. W. (Frederick William), 1854-1916 a Manuwatu councillor in New Zealand.
