Notice its pages, introduction by author, bibliography, acknowledgements and list of illustrations and index. Illustrated frontispiece, showing tattooed chief of Rarotonga, Te Pou, 1837. The text is illustrated with numerous colour photographs black-and-white photographs, and the occasional coloured and black-and-white illustrations. Photographic front cover, showing a Tahitian figure, with white writing on the front panel and black on the spine. Rubbing to all edges of the book and the corners are slightly bumped and scuffed. Some marks to the laminate of the boards and bookseller sticker to the top left-hand corner of the back panel. A small book on the lost ( for the most part ) arts of Polynesia, the islands of Tahati, Society, Austel and Cook Islands. Size: 4to 9¾" - 12" tall. Please refer to accompanying picture (s).
