Spine straight and tight, tail bumped. Not from a library. No remainder mark. 259 pages. 6 B&W plates. 23 cm. Grant Wood was a strange mixture of dungareed simplicity and sophisticated aloofness. Critics see this in his paintings; the people of Iowa saw it in him personally. It is the latter aspect that the author explored in this biography: Grant Wood as son, brother, townsman, student, teacher, friend, and very briefly as husband.
