Philadelphia: .B. Peterson, 1863. Hardcover. Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. 270pp. Undated but circa 1863. Blind-stamped covers, gilt titling on spine, text is in double column format. Corners and spine ends are worn and there are several small chips to boards but overall quite intact, fading to spine but legible. Contents are foxed, owner's name, address, date and a small rubber stamp "in memory of..." on front free endpaper is only indication that this could be ex-library. An uncommon early American edition of this novel, probably first American edition.
