A fascinating map, here with "North Australia" taking up the area above South Australia and New South Wales (no Queensland marked), and with a long and winding Lake Torrens in South Australia. Illustrations drawn by J. Marchant and engraved by J.B. Allen. Map drawn and engraved by J. Rapkin. Includes illustrations of Australian parrots and cockatoo, kangaroos, "Natives of Australia Felix", "Natives of the Tribe of Bogan" and a view of Sydney. This map was drawn and engraved by John Rapkin for "The Illustrated Atlas and Modern History of the World" by Montgomery Martin and published in London by The London Printing and Publishing Company. A beautiful copy with attractive outline handcolor, issued unfolded. .
