San Diego, California: American Astronautical Society (AAS), 1981. xvi, 310 pages. Third printing of Volume 1 in the AAS History Series, that was first published in 1977. Laid in is a handwritten note from Gene Emme to NASA archivist Lee Saegesser, with whom Emme had worked closely for years in the NASA History Office.
