Synge is set in Centaur type and printed and published by Liam Miller at the Dolmen Press Ltd., 23 Upper Mount Street, Dublin 2, in the Republic of Ireland in an edition of one thousand two hundred and fifty copies in January 1965" printed in red at the rear flyleaf. Beneath this, printed in black, "This is number" 1009 appears to be written in hand in ink. Near Fine in Very Good Onion paper "DJ" and Very Good+ to Near Fine Slipcase: The Book shows a bit of discoloration or soiling to the gilt top edge; the binding is cocked ever so slightly off square, but remains perfectly secure; the text is clean. Free of creased or dog-eared pages in the text. Free of underlining, hi-lighting, notations, or marginalia. Free of any ownership names, dates, addresses, notations, inscriptions, stamps, plates, or labels. A handsome nearly-new copy, structurally sound and tightly bound, showing a couple of unobtrusive imperfections. Bright and clean. Corners sharp. Very close to 'As New'. The Onion paper "DJ" shows sparse loss to chipping at the bottom edge, some wrinkling near the heel of the backstrip, and a small chip and a tear at the top of the rear panel; The Slipcase shows a hint of a crease to the lower front corner and very faint sunning to the brown background field of the backstrip and along the edge of the front panel. Clsoe to "As New". NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. 4to. (10.15 x 6.25 x 0.45 inches). 46 pages. Introduction by Alan Price. Section of 14 sepia-toned photographs by J.M. Synge. Reproduction of the first page of Synge Autobiography. Brown paper-covered boards with gilt-embossed 'JMS' monogram at the front panel with ivory-toned, gilt-titled parchment backstrip.
