Dark green covers with blind decoration on the front and rear covers and dulled gilt lettering and decoration on the spine are marked on front, lightly bumped edges, corners and spine-ends, paper split over rear internal hinge, sound binding, clean pages and end-papers. Light foxing to title-page. xx, 443. No dust jacket, as published. Stamps for Halifax Antiquarian Society and "Withdrawn" stamp on front end-papers and prelims.
