About This Item
On personal stationery, headed" Miss Noel Streatfeildn O.B.E., Vicarge Gate Nursing Home, Vicarage Gate, Londom W.S. 41Q To: "Dear Mr. Griffin, Thank you for your letter and the appeal for funds to expand your library, something dear to my heart. I enclose a copy of my book [not offered here] "When the Sirens Wailed". I have chosen this book as many children write to me and tell me that they have been advised to read the book as they are studying the history of the last war. As you can see I now live in a Nursing Home & cannot even write my own letters, but I will try to sign the book, & this letter so that you may have my autograph. I should like to wish you, your staff and the children a very happy and successful 1985. Yours Sincerely, Noel Streatfield." Only the author's first name has been signed in her hand, and with some obvious difficulty. Mailing folds, slight soiling, else very good..
