About This Item

11 Montpelier Square, Brompton, 23 January 1854. 4 pp. 7 x 4½ inches, fine. F.W.Fairholt (1814-66) was an engraver and the author of antiquarian works. The first important work entirely illustrated by him was Jackson and Chatto’s Treatise on Wood Engraving (1839). He was also employed on the Art Journal.
