24 South Bank, St. John’s Wood, 13 December 1834. 1¼ pages 9 x 7 inches, integral address leaf (torn at seal opening), neat title label affixed. From the Enys Collection. Richard James Lane (1800 - 1872), was a prolific Victorian engraver and lithographer. The National Portrait Gallery has some 850 lithographs of his portraits and figure studies, done between 1825 and 1850. Davies Gilbert (1767–1839), scientific administrator and applied mathematician, who chaired numerous parliamentary committees, drafting and shepherding many items of legislation.
