About This Item
54 Bedford Gardens, Kensington, 28 October 1908. 2 pp. 7 x 4 inches, fine. Alfred Parsons RA (18471920), artist: illustrator, landscape painter and garden designer, and author of Notes In Japan (1895). He was elected Associate Member of the Royal Academy (ARA) in 1897 and Royal Academician (RA) in 1911. ... one particular view remains in my memory, seen from the Great Western Railway between Shepton Mallet & Wells, where beyond fold after fold of wooded & grassy hills Glastonbury Torr stands up against the sky in distance, a combination of rich pastoral landscape with historic interest which cannot easily be surpassed.
