Charles G.B.Daubeny (1795-1867), chemist, who applied his knowledge to geological and botanical studies. At Oxford, Daubeny became a professor of chemistry, botany and rural economy. He investigated the chemical nature of mineral and thermal waters and the conservability of seeds.
