About This Item
New York: Harrison Smith and Robert Haas, 1935. Boards. Near Fine/Very Good +. Jean De Brunhoff. A very impressive copy of the 1935 correct 1st American edition, translated from the original French by Merle Haas and published by Harrison Smith and Robert Haas (not the more common Random House re-issue). Tight and Near Fine, with very light soiling to the rear panel. Internally immaculate, with the rich illustrations in bright, vivid color and with no writing or markings of any kind. And in an unusually crisp, price-intact ($3.00), VG+ example of the elusive pictorial dustjacket. Very light, occasional soiling at the dustjacket's panels, several tiny closed tears along the top-edges. Folio, the 3rd title in this beloved series about "the most famous little elephant in the world". The nicest copy this bookseller has seen.
