Including some French and Latin poems on similar subjects, and some forewords on education in early England. Frederick James Furnivall (4 February 1825 2 July 1910), one of the co-creators of the Oxford English Dictionary, was an English philologist. He founded a number of learned societies on early English Literature, and made pioneering and massive editorial contributions to the subject. Illustrated with sixteen plates to the rear. Condition: In a half-calf binding. Externally, sound, though with some rubbing and slight wear to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Front hinge is slightly strained. Pages are bright, though with some scattered spotting throughout. Bookplate to front pastedown. Overall: GOOD.
