Illustrator: Illustrated . list of illustrations, genealogies, catalogue of vocal works, catalogue of instrumental works, bibliography and glossary. Illustrated portrait frontispiece, of Johann Sebastian Bach, which is protected by a tissue guard in good condition. There are another eight illustrations within the text, or present. Dark red coloured cloth covered boards with gilt coloured decoration and titles to the front panel and back strip. Gilt to the top text block edge. A small book on the baroque musician Bach – his family, life, and, more importantly, his music. Softening and a little rubbing of the back strip edges with rubbing of the book corners. Some sunning of the back strip. Uniform tanning of the text block edges, with lighter tanning of the pages. The front text edge has not been split between page 221 and to the rear end page – please see photo. Offset tanning to the end pages and to the top right-hand corner there has been a blind stamp applied which goes to page VI. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. [4], V - X, [1] 222, [1] pages,.
