SIGNED & NUMBERED BY THE AUTHOR on the half title pages. Extrmemely clean, tight copies. Leather or leather-look binding. These books are a pictorial and descriptive history of the county court houses of Illinois. Each volume of this three volume set is SIGNED & NUMBERED BY THE AUTHOR. Each of the three volumes contain 34 full-page drawings. Volume one is Adams through Hancock Counties. Volume two is Hardin through Montogomery counties. Volume three is Morgan through Woodford Counties. Each page of each book is hand silk screen printed. Each is #26 of a limited edition of 200 copies. Also included is a copy of a newpaper article originally published on December 9, 1984 that tells about David Alan Badger and his work as an artist and provides information about his ongoing project of documenting historical landmarks, mainly around Illinois. Mr. Badger was planning to produce more than 180 limited edition books documenting the architecture and history of communities in every county in Illinois. Each book contains 35 to 40 of Badger 's drawings of homes, businesses and public buildings in the community. Buildings he documents have been chosen for their aesthetic appeal and for their historic significance. Each book also contains a brief narrative about the buildings. Also included within the books are poetry by Mr. Badger. According to the article, ""Badger hoped his books would serve as a reference & resource for future scholars, as some of the buildings have already been destroyed."".
