About This Item

New York City: Self-published, 1982. 1982 Stated First Printing. FINE in GOOD+ dust jacket. INSCRIBED by Vinokur on the front free endpaper, in black ink, "To--- Dr. Daniel Maklansky --- My thanks and best wishes. Herschel Weinrauch (Grigory Vinokur) April 12, 1982." A small address label is affixed below the inscription and phone number written beneath. An otherwise unmarked copy; pages clean, crisp and tightly bound in a blue leatherette hardcover with title gilt-stamped on front and spine. The dust jacket is clean though there is a long shallow chip with creasing at bottom edge of front panel and a tear with creasing at the top edge of the front panel. "…a prose-poem about a heroic Jewish people who are fighting for their survival...also a narrative that shows a new way of life; a quiet, peaceful life; a prosperous life without fear of terrorist, gangsters, or national or international demagogues who are nothing but opportunists and demagogues." An eloquent plea for a democratic, peaceful and free country for Jews and others who want to live in friendship. The verses contain relevant black & white vignettes of photos and drawings. 6-1/4 x 9-1/4". 96 pages. Signed by Author. First Edition. Hard Cover. Fine/Good+.
