About This Item

[Edinburgh]: Self Published, 1823 Self Published by the Author, printed for Private Distribution, and limited to 30 copies. Includes a frontispiece and mounted vignette from an etching by Sharpe. vii, [1], 124pp, printed on laid paper, with a Dedication to Sir Walter Scott, Bart. "Webster, Printer, Horse Wynd" printed at the foot of the last page. Bound in full leather, with a gilt armorial lion holding up a book, with a banner below it reading "Concordia Et Sedulitate" showing on front and back covers, raised bands on gilt decorated spine, gilt edges, covers NOT detached, and the covers are in Very Good Condition. The Interior is in Fair Condition and shows the book detached from the covers, with the marbled endpapers loose, along with some loose pages at front and back of book, occasional damp mark and foxing, with offsetting from the glue used to mount the vignette. Inked notations on the front free endpaper with references used to identify the book, as it does not mention the author, nor publisher. I have made no repairs to the book, as this leaves it fresh to repaired by an expert in the field.
