Illustrated throughout with engravings by Dante Gabriel Rossetti, and with an introduction by Mackenzie Bell. Flexible covers in vellum with gilt front cover design, about 7.5 inches tall, original plain tan slipcase. The book is in very good condition, with clean covers, good hinges, firm text block, clean pages, armorial bookplate of Oliver Brett inside front cover, no other names or markings. The slipcase is unevenly age-browned and has some modest edgewear, structurally sound. Includes a 1948 receipt for purchase of the book by the last owner from Marks & Co. Booksellers in London.. First Edition. Soft Cover. Very Good/Very Good Slipcase. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.

From the William Fredeman Collection. Rarely seen in this condition. Included with this item is another printing, dated in 1929, with a prefatory note (by Mackenzie Bell). The latter in wrappers with foxing. Scarce grouping indeed.
