Fields, Osgood & Co, 1870 hb no d/w, green cloth bevelled boards with gilt titles and decoration to the spine and front cover, the rear cover is blind stamped with the decoration shown on the front cover, corners and head and foot of spine are bumped and worn, else the covers show little signs of wear or soiling, all edges gilt the pages are lightly tanned due to age, numerous engravings throughout, the binding is cracked near the front but the book remains intact except for page vii/viii which has become detached, there is an ink presentation inscription on one of the preliminary pages (p. iii), overall it remains a nice copy [Box 11]
