Stated first printing with sequence of numbers appearing on the copyright page with the "1" present and no additional printings indicated. A tight, clean, sound copy in textured burgandy paper covered boards quarter bound in textured black paper with very minor overall shelf wear with a very light bump on the front bottom right corner. The dust jacket shows only very minor overall shelf wear. A novel in which the main character discovers an abandoned crime scene where she discovers an intricately designed barbed ring that whose points pierce her when she puts it on her finger and the is suddenly transported to another world. There she begins an adventure when she becomes involved with a mercenary in a land on the brink of war and where she finds herself the target of fanatical assassins. As things progress she discovers that she possesses an uncanny ability with wizardry as well as the fact that the ring she wears holds a great secret.
