Illustrated with engravings of the coats of arms. Half-leather covers with plain contemporary boards. Front cover is detached. Sound internal binding, except pages 401-404, which are partially detached. Uncut (untrimmed) pages. Clean pages, except for light marking from a water spill in the extremes of lower corner. Text in 2 columns. Occasional vignette illustrations. Marginal tears and loss in index. Some anomalies in pagination but all complete and text in correct order. Note on contents page: "There are some inaccuracies in the pages; but the figures, both here and of the index, refer to them as they stand in the book".
