Minor rubbing to the extremities of the binding, light foxing of the preliminary pages, else this is a bright, very good copy. Part of the 6 shilling series of A&C Black colour books. Inman 276. This is the scarcest of the 6 shilling books; it was cut down from a book originally published in the 20 shilling series, and only 1700 copies were issued.

Montreal: Cambridge Corporation [circa 1906], Royal Canadian edition. (Leather binding) 212pp. Very good. Dark green pebble grained leather with illustration and titles in gilt. An unnumbered copy from a limited edition of 1000 sets. Cloth reinforced inner hinges with green faux-moire endpapers, top edge gilt, 79 color plates with captioned tissue guards. Although there is a faint one-inch dampstain along the outer edge of the front board, this is a sound copy of one of the scarcer titles in the series. Illustrations by Francis S. Walker.
