Quarto, pp. 544, gilt & silver stamped cover and spine, color frontispiece (Adam & Eve), decorative presented to page (not filled in). Color lithographs, woodcut engravings throughout, maps. -- Tiny ownership stamp (like a miniature ex-libris plate) in the upper left corner of the front cover with the name "W. M. Treloar". Also his pen signature on the first free endpaper with the location Grass Valley, California. -- Very few of these found with a San Francisco imprint; or in collectible condition.
