About This Item

New York: Bantam Books, 1965. 405 pp. Bantam Book N2889. Light edge and corner wear with some creasing on the spine; no interior markings. O'Hara was an American writer who earned his early literary reputation for short stories and became a best-selling novelist before the age of 30 with Appointment in Samarra and Butterfield 8. His work stands out among that of contemporaries for its hard realism. While his legacy as a writer is debated, his fans rank him as one of the most under-appreciated and unjustly neglected major American writers of the 20th century. This collection contains far too many stories to list them all but some of the highlights are: Eminent Domain; John Bartn Rosedale, Actors' Actor; The Man on the Tractor; Saturday Lunch; The Windowpane Check; and many, many more.. First Paperback Printing. Soft Cover. Very Good.
