Brick red cloth binding with black title blocks and gilt titles on front cover and spine. Spine faded with crease in cloth, a little edge wear, corners and spine ends bumped, a little spotting of cover with small stain at bottom of front cover, inscribed by owner on front free end paper "Charles R. Welfare, Professional Bldg, Winston-Salem, N. C." some tanning of end papers, interior pages lightly tanned, binding tight.

Isidore Snapper (1889-1973), Internist, -war ab 1919 Professor in Amsterdam. 1938 emigrierte er nach New York. "1941 he was the first to suggest that unsaturated fat protected against arteriosclerosis. Snapper was considered a master of bedside medicine." Er entwickelte den Snapper-Saltzman Test für die Leberfunktion. An seinen Kollegen Oesterreicher wegen einer Patientin:"[...] mit Schmerzen im Rücken und Gallenblasengegend [...] viel Schleim in der Choledratus Galle [...] Wahrscheinlich hat sie also von Zeit zu Zeit etwas Gallenstauung. Daher habe ich ihr eine Karlsbaderkur empfohlen [...]"
