Translated by Ernest Newman 8vo size green clothbound hardcover; 432 deckled edged pages with black and white frontispiece, more than two dozen illustrations and sheet music throughout the book. Contents include: Portrait of Beethoven in his 30th year The Eroica The Appassionata Leonora Appendices: Beethoven's Deafness A Beethoven Sketch-Book of 1800 The Brunsvik Sisters and their Cousin of the Moonlight Pages are toned with slightly darker edges and there is some ink transfer from some illustrations to the abutting page. Name on fep, penciled notation on rep. There appears to be some white paint transfer from a bookshelf on the bottom of the book. Sunned spine which extends to covers and sunned band on top of book. Gilt titles on spine are quite dull. Crack to binding at page 430/431. . Cloth. Good/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
