Pencilled (plate?) number at upper right of sheet outside plate mark, otherwise bright and in fine condition. An exquisite botanical image by Pancrace Bessa, one of France's foremost botanical artists of the 19th century, engraved by Barrois for "Flore des Jardiniers, Amateurs, et Manufacturiers . . . d'apres les Dessins de Bessa". At lower left in tiny italics is noted the country of origin of the plant (China) and the date of flowering (May - September). .
