A much owned copy of this still useful book of recipes of good, simple, wholesome food (very characteristic of the recipes provided in the post-war and just recently post-rationing years). The covers are much worn, creased, marked, repaired. The spine has been repaired with packing tape. They are resolute, comfortable. The contents have much evidence of contented, avid use throughout. There are annotations, user marks, creases, wear. Nonetheless, the pages are still competent, able, clear, companionable, kindly, usable, eager to be used. fk.
