Saranac Lake NY: Privately Printed, 1915. 1st. Paperback. Very Good/No Dust Jacket. A short self-published or privately issued edition, in string-tied wraps. This has a Nov. 2, 1915 copyright - one year earlier than the 1916 Houghton Mifflin hardcover ("The Beloved Physician: Edward Livingston Trudeau") which is an expanded edition and the first commercially published edition. This 1915 issue also lacks the "Edward Livingston Trudeau" subtitle. The pamphlet contains a poem by Chalmers given to Trudeau, 3 photographs, and mostly text divided into 5 sections: "The Beloved Physician" "Early Days" "At Paul Smith's" "The Sanitarium" and "The Beloved Paradox."Condition very good with slight aging and soiling and very moderate corner and edge wear, but no major issues. Plum Adirondack Bibliography number 7157. Please see image. 43 pages.
