Berkeley: Red Mountain Tribe, 1969. Newspaper. 28p., folded tabloid underground newspaper, articles, reviews, news, opinion, events, ads, comix, chip at bottom of fold else very good on newsprint. Early issue of the underground paper put out by the former staff of the Berkeley Barb.
Cover features a photo-comic strip including shots of Bobby Seale, Roland Young, Tribe staffers, Hog Farm bus, and misc. craziness. Issue is most notable for a mammoth 3-page transcription of a discussion of the Weathermen and Days of Rage by various underground paper and Chicago Newsreel staffers, including Stew Albert and Judy Gumbo, Abe Peck, et al., and a two-page spread about the blooming of underground comix and a "New Comix" show at the Phoenix Gallery in Berkeley (soon to be busted for obscenity). Features portrait shots of S. Clay Wilson and Dave Sheridan. Back cover features full page Freak Brothers strip featuring Norbert the Nark.
