USFA (Conservation Division) 8/17/17 TSL facsimile thanking her for her circulation of recipes using coarse instead of patent wheat flour supporting the WW I war effort. Thirty-five USFA endorsed WW I recipes using Royal Baking Powder, mostly cakes, cookies and breads. Started by the Hoagland brothers (Joseph and Cornelius) in 1866, Royal merged in 1929 with four other companies into Standard Brands. The baking powder is still marketed today by Hulman & Co.
