Charles Dickens' Martin Chuzzlewit complete in four volumes. Part of Sheldon's "Works of Charles Dickens. Household Edition." One B&W illustration in each volume with tipped-in protective tissue. Black cloth (faded) with gilt lettering and publisher medallion on spine; gilt medallion on front.FON on FFEP of each volume.Covers are faded and bumped, with wear on the top & heels of spines (volumes 2 & 3 top spines are frayed), and bent corners. Pages are age tanned with occasional stains. Volume 1 protective tissue is torn, cracking at half-title all volumes.

These two small hardcover books, published in London in 1898, are decorated with lovely gold decor on the covers and were issued without dustjackets.

Paris: F. Bechet and A. Egron, 1817. First Edition First Printing . Hardcover. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Octavos. xxx, 403, [2]; 394, [2] pages. Hardcovers bound in dark green half leather with marbled paper-covered boards. The bindings show some wear but are quite sound with sturdy hinges. The rear hinge on Volume 1 is scuffed with the untreated leather exposed. There is a white scuff mark on the front cover of Volume 1 at the bottom left corner. Bindings tight. Marbled endpapers. The text is a little toned and has some occasional foxing, but overall the text appears clean. Half title to Volume 1 appears to be a little loose. SIGNED Bechet (one of the publishers) on the verso of the title page to authenticate this edition as not being a pirated edition. Text is in French. A translation of the title into English is, "The Colonies and the Present Revolution of America.

A fine, three-volume set of the works of Moliere published in the late 19th-century. This 1883 English edition was published in London and features introductory and notes by Charles Wall of Brighton College. Like other complete works of Moliere, this example includes his most famous works such as The Misanthrope, Tartuffe, the Impostor, and Don Juan.
First volume has a B&W illustration of Moliere at the title page.
Books are in Fine/Great condition! Just slight wear/staining on the covers. Corners are bumped a bit. Interiors are in Great condition! Really a lovely set and in Fantastic condition for being over 130 years old!

Hardcovers bound in original brown cloth with white paper title labels on the spines. The bindings are rubbed and bumped, and the spine ends are fraying. There is also some splitting on the outer rear hinge of Vol. I. The labels are toned, rubbed and chipped. Damping on the rear board of volume one and the front board of volume two. There is a prior owner's 20th century bookplate on the front pastedown of both volumes. Hinges are secure. Some slight damping at the lower right corner of the text block on both volumes, not affecting the text. Text is toned. Publisher's four-page catalogue at the front of each volume.
